Sweethoney Dessert is a popular Hong Kong dessert shop franchise with locations all throughout the US and world. The Colma, CA location of Sweethoney Dessert began using Front Waitlist late last October (in 2023) to better serve their customers.

Dessert shops like Sweethoney Dessert are often smaller in size with smaller tables and seating options. This means that during peak hours, customers can be waiting for seating for a lot longer than it takes for their orders to come out of the kitchen. With so many diners and no seating, customers are left unsatisfied and may view their experience with Sweethoney Dessert unfavorably.

With Front Waitlist, diners can see exactly how many parties are in front of them in line, sign up for the waitlist and leave the premises until it is time to go back to Sweethoney Dessert when their table is ready. Front Waitlist also separates table wait times by party size, thus parties of different sizes will have a better idea of when they can be seated next. The issue with many other waitlist systems is that hosts can only give general approximate wait times instead of more defined wait times for each waiting table. With Front Waitlist, the customer facing interface shows how many tables are in line for each separate party as well as which table number is next in line.

Thus, waiting customers will not feel as if their time is wasted. In addition, Sweethoney Dessert will have less congestion as a result, creating a better dining experience overall.

Over the course of nearly 5 months since implementing Front Waitlist, Sweethoney Dessert was not only able to see a high volume of customers entering the waitlist, but also a large number of repeat customers, averaging out to a purchase frequency of 1.19 over 5 months and a all time high of 1.38 in October of 2023. In addition, Sweethoney Dessert had consistently increased in diners using Front Waitlist since its implementation meaning that not just staff but customers are welcoming this new technology into this popular dessert franchise.

Many may think that waitlist systems would work best for larger full service restaurants, Sweethoney Dessert is a great example of a smaller specialty dessert shop utilizing a waitlist system successfully. By improving upon their waitlist and table seating systems via Front, Sweethoney can convert more customers into becoming loyal, repeat customers.

With the implementation of Front Eats for New King Buffet, sales had quickly increased with an order volume of 207 orders within a two month period. This means that they have averaged 103.5 orders per month since utilizing Front Eats with their average revenue being well over $10,000 per month.
